比 [bǐ] shows as Ｖｅｒｂ :

1. 动词 [比较] compare
¶ 比比过去，我们现在的生活好多了。
Life now is much better compared to the past.
2. 动词 [较量] compete
他们要比比谁游得快。
They are competing to see who swims the fastest.

1. 动词 compare ; contrast
¶ 想想过去，比比现在。
recall the past and contrast it with the present
2. 动词 emulate ; compete ; match
¶ 咱俩比一比，看谁高。
Let's stand back to back and see who is taller.

比较差别用"比"，比较异同用"跟"或"同"。
如"他家比我家生活好"是说两家经济状况有差别；
"他跟我的生活不一样"是说两人的生活内容和方式不同。
这两句中的"比"和"跟"不能互换。
